TAI CHI CHUAN STYLES - WEAPONS
Each style has it´s own versions in the use of weapons. The weapons
that are usually used within taiji boxing are: the sword,
the sabre, the stick and the spear.
Fan is also used. Some others are used too, for example: Da Dao (a "halberd"
looking one) and another one wich is a tool made out of one stick and
a bunch of filaments (I don´t know the english nor the spanish name.
“fu zhen” is the fonetical transcription).
When
reference is made to the practise of a form using one of these weapons,
the name tai-chi chuan -or taijiquan- changes and the name of the weapon
is added to "taiji". For exemple: taiji jian would be the name,
in the case of the sword; taiji dao for the sabre; taiji quiang for the
spear and taiji gun for the stick.

Other weapons: Fans, Halberds, metalic whips with 9 articulations, 3
section sticks... The "fu zhen" is shown in the following picture,
(I have only seen taoist monks practising with it, in a masterly way).

At de link for the sword, besides the pictures, you will find some advices
for the balancing.
