As a definition of TAI CHI CHUANThe tai-chi chuan or taiji quan is an ancient Chinese martial art that combines smooth, precise and harmoniously deliberated movements, relaxed concentration, fluid respiration, internal attention focalization to manage what is called the ´´qi´´ (a type of internal energy). Through these, it harnesses the physical as well as the mental health, harmonizing both aspects, with the similar objectives as the rest of the internal martial arts (that is, not based on the physical muscular force) for self-defence. It is also part of the Taoist spiritual cultivation, for its meditative character in its execution as well as other advanced characteristics. |
